The Cathedral of Vicenza, dedicated to Santa Maria Maggiore, which later became an Annunciation between the 7th and 8th centuries, is located in the square of the same name as an impressive example of late Gothic style. Built at different times, the central part dates back to the thirteenth century built on an early Christian basilica and rebuilt with five naves in the X-XI.

The cathedral was restored after the war to repair the serious damage suffered by the American bombing in 1944.
